First stopover (creation 2016-2017)
In September 2016, Les Ateliers Frappaz (Centre national des arts de la rue in Villeurbanne, France) commissioned Gilles Laval for his project to create “100 guitares sur un bateau ivre” (100 guitars on a drunken boat). It is the beginning of a great adventure: a year of conception and writing, a gigantic organizational work and rehearsals.
On June 22th, 2017, 100 guitarists, aged 12 to 65, present this incredible project as part of the festival Les Invites de Villeurbanne. The concert takes place in the exceptional Place Lazare Goujon, between the Town Hall and the National Popular Theater of Villeurbanne, in front of an enthusiastic crowd of more than 1,200 people.
The success of this first creation lead Gilles and team to continue the exploration of a broader project, with the idea of playing it again and eventually grow this as a bigger initiative.
A big thanks goes to Emeraude Gomes, Giulia Gennaro, Patrice Papelard, les Ateliers Frappaz, Vera Geslin, Coco Picos, Manu Joule, Le Gogniol, Fab, le Bistro fait sa brocante, JP Bouchard…
