40 Guitars in Berlin: The Project is Launched!

Last week, with Gilles, we had the pleasure to fly to Berlin to meet with Milk Me and the six first registered guitarists (out of 20) to kick-off the 40 guitars on a drunken boat project.

In the morning, Gilles and Josh prepared the stage and run through the organization of the day. Obviously, they both started discussing with their guitars in hand rather than with words. The venue at Urban Spree was very cool and we were glad to be able to use the in-place sound system and the projector to display our online training resources to accelerate the early learning process.

At noon, the first six registered Berlin guitar players showed up. After a brief introduction, we were all pleasantly surprised of the diversity of the group! Six people, six nationalities: Germany, France, Australia, Guatemala, Canada and Ireland! That’s Berlin!… Max, Arthur, Leah, Byron, Justin and Ben brought their guitars, their good mood, their cultural fit, and their motivation with them. Most of them already had a chance to start exploring some of the pieces of the creation from the Learning Center.

Enough words. Here they are now with their guitars in hand, under the direction of Josh and Gilles already rehearsing Embellie, Unsaved and Bateau Ivre. They are all fast learners and we were amazed by their professionalism at such an early stage of the project. With this core team, we are very confident on the outcomes of the final show of the 40 guitars in June 2022. Can’t wait to be there!…

Special thanks to Cat and Josh who host us during these two days.

If you are from Berlin and would like to participate, there are still places left!
